Concierge — Material Listing Specialist

About the role

Go to accounts that are already signed up with us and get their material listed. You drive a company vehicle to a scheduled visit, work the material with the customer, photograph and weigh it, and get it onto the marketplace. You earn a percentage of what the company makes on every item you get listed — so the more you get listed on a visit, the more the visit is worth. Called out to look at electric motors, walk the yard and talk them into listing their #2 copper too, and the copper pays what the copper is worth. This is a W-2 position paid on commission, not an hourly job.

What you'll do

• —Run scheduled concierge visits at accounts already signed up with us
• —Walk the customer's yard and identify everything they could be listing, not only what you were called for
• —Photograph, weigh, and describe material well enough to list it accurately
• —Get listings created on the spot, from what is actually on the ground
• —Help customers sort and stage material for pickup
• —Represent the company at a customer's site — often the only person from us they ever meet
• —Keep your appointment schedule and report visit outcomes
• —Operate the company vehicle safely and keep it maintained

What you need

• —Valid driver's license with a clean recent driving record — no CDL required
• —21 or older (insurance requirement for the company vehicle)
• —Able to identify and grade common scrap material — copper, brass, aluminum, e-scrap, motors
• —Genuinely comfortable talking with customers and asking for more business
• —Good phone camera work — a bad photo costs the customer money and costs you commission
• —Willing to be paid on commission
• —Prior scrap buying, peddling, or yard experience strongly preferred
