Questions about selling brass scrap

What is the difference between red and yellow brass?
Red brass has more copper in it, so it usually sells for more. Valves and some plumbing fittings are often red brass. Most fixtures and fittings are yellow brass.
Does dirty brass sell?
Yes, at a lower price. Dirty brass has steel, plastic, or other material attached. Cleaning it first gets you the clean price.
Does it cost anything to list?
No. There is no listing fee, no transport fee, and no storage fee. We only take a commission when your listing sells. If it does not sell, you owe nothing.
Do I have to haul the material anywhere?
No. We pick it up from you with our own trucks. Pickup is scheduled when you list, at least two business days out. Our driver records the weight and takes photos at pickup.
When do I get paid?
Once we have picked up your lot, your money is released and you request a payout from your account.
Will the buyer know who I am?
No. Buyers and sellers never see each other's names, company names, or addresses. We handle the pickup and the paperwork in between.
Who can sell?
Businesses. To get approved as a seller you give us your EIN, your registered business address, and a copy of your business license.
